Artist's Profile Eldon D. Faries, newly elected president of Watercolor Art Society – Houston. Eldon is a prize winning watercolor artist. He has been a member of WAS-H for over twenty-five years. He critiques, teaches classes, workshops, Paint-Ins and Splashes for WAS-H and at numerous other places in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. He has had three solo exhibitions: North Harris Community College Art Gallery, spring, Texas; Schreiner University, Kerrville, Texas; Brazosport Art Center, Lake Jackson (Clute), Texas; and one group exhibition of four artists from the Houston area at the Barnwell Art Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. He currently teaches Drawing I and Drawing II at Montgomery College in The Woodlands. Before his 2004 retirement, he taught secondary art for forty years in Klein and Spring, Texas and Bloomington, Indiana. He enjoys painting watercolor landscape as well as figures.
