Artist's Profile
Tucker Bailey's bronze sculptures have been shown at many exhibitions and have won numerous awards. Among her awards are: The Josephine B. Sandor Memorial Award, 2004, The Katherine Thayer Hobson Memorial Award, 2002, and the Charlotte Dunwiddie Memorial
Award for Animal Sculpture, presented to Tucker at the 55th, 56th and 58th Pen & Brush, Inc. Annual Sculpture and Medallic Art Exhibition, New York, NY.
She has exhibited in 2001, 2003, aand 2004 in the Bennington Center for the Arts, Bennington, Vermont Art of the Animal Kingdom shows.
Tucker's works were shown in the Society of Animal Artists exhibitions ( during 1997 to 2002) in Washington, D. C.; Cedar City, Utah; Surprise, Arizona; Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin; North Palm Beach, Florida; Clevelend, Ohio; Orlando Florida;
Ambleside Gallery in Grosse Pointe, Michigan; and benefit shos at Grafton, Massachusetts and Oradell, New Jersey. Her sculpture was chosen for the Society of Animal Artists' national museum tour in 2000 and 2001.
Tucker Bailey's works have also shown at exhibitions of the American Academy of Equine Artists, including the Fall Open Juried Exhibition at the William G. Kenton Gallery in the International Museum of the Horse at the Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington,
Kentucky; the Equestrian's Perspective at The Sportsman's Gallery, Atlanta, Georgia, in April 2000.
Her works have been commissioned for the North Carolina Zoological Park, Asheboro, North Carolina, in 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2003. These sculptures include small African rain forest animals for the African Pavilion aand Chimpanzee Exhibit;
Giraffes for the Forest Edge Exhibit as well as an Arctic Fox and Elephants for placement at the Arctic Fox and Elephant Exhibits, respectively.
Additionally, Tucker Bailey has exhibited her pieces at the Hudson Valley Art Association (2002); National Association of Women Artists (2001 & 2002); Greenhill Center for North Carolina Art in Greensboro, NC (1999, 2000, 2001, 2003);
the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club (1993); South Eastern Wildlife Exposition, Charleston, South Carolina (1999, 2000 and 2001); Allied Artists of America, Inc. 84th and 85th Annual Exhibition at the National Arts Club, New York, NY (1997 & 1998).
Tucker has shown her sculpture from 1998 at the American Academy of Women Artists Annual Exhibitions in 1998, 1999 and 2001.
At the American Artists Professional League in 1994, 1997 and 1998, Tucker Bailey exhibited at the Grand National Exhibition in New York, where she received two awards: The Chaude Parson Memorial Award for Sculpure, and an Honorable Mention Award
for sculpture.
In November and December of 1998, Tucker was part of a two-person show entitled Art Gallery Originals, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
