Artist's Profile
Michael McNamara has worked as a professional artist for 15 years. His art has shown in galleries and museums including the Society of Illustrators Museum in New York City, the Scarab Club in Detroit, Michigan, the Salmagundi Club in New York City and
the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. In addition, he has created illustrations for the children's books, "Where Do Elephants Stomp?" by Rigby Publishers, and "Mr. Smart's Big Dog Book," by Harcourt Publishers. Mr. McNamara has also created
artwork for clients including the Walt Disney Corporation, Chiquita, General Motors Corporation, Ford Motor Company, Daimler Chrysler, Midwest Living, and Corvette Quarterly. Mr. McNamara has received honors from advertising's Caddy Awards, among others.
Michael McNamara was born in Detroit, MI, in 1964. He received a B.F.A. from the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit.
He writes: "My work reaches toward the soul of my subject, revealing both the drama in life, as well as the own heart…a sense of spiritual content reveals the struggle, as well as the beauty, which exist all around us yet so often times remain unnoticed."
