Artist's Profile Rich Nelson lives and works in Tryon, North Carolina having relocated from Royal Oak, Michigan. He graduated from Detroit's Center for Creative Studies in 1988. It was at C.C.S. that Rich developed his love of painting, figurative art, and art history. He has been working ever since as an illustrator, portrait, and gallery artist. He and Kimberly were married in 1995, and they are the proud parents of Lucas, Lillian and Samuel. Rich is endlessly fascinated by people and considers it a privilege and a challenge to capture some of their essence on canvas.
